The MSTPF supports organizations that advance quality trails and parks in the Mat-Su Borough. The foundation considers applications for financial assistance on a competitive basis twice per year, in the fall and early spring. Dates will be posted on our website and on Facebook.
New Grant Cycle!
Our next grant cycle due date is: January 5th, 2018
To help streamline the process for our grantees, we have made a few changes to the program. We will be trying some earlier grant cycles that we hope will help everyone in their annual trail or park project planning process. We have also eliminated a step in order to get grants funds to you more quickly. There will no longer be a Letter of Interest phase of the grant cycle; instead, we will work directly with applicants on submitting a full application by each due date. If you haven’t applied in the past, we highly encourage you to contact us ahead of time to review the application to ensure it is complete at the time of submission.
The Trails and Parks Grants will now provide the opportunity for eligible organizations to apply for grants up to $30,000 for eligible trails and parks projects and up to $50,000 specifically for trails connector projects. For the higher grant categories, we have new matching fund requirements:
$10,000 or less ~ Matching funds or in-kind donations are encouraged, but not required.
$10,001 – $30,000 ~ Minimum Match of 2:1 is highly encouraged. Cash or In-kind (i.e., $2 grant dollars for every dollar of cash or in-kind match. In-kind grantee volunteer hours limited to $26 per hour. Contractors willing to donate time not associated with the grantee may do so at the rate they would normally charge.)
$30,001 – $50,000 ~ Minimum Match of 1:1 is required. Cash and In-kind match accepted. In-kind match should not exceed 50% of total match. Same in-kind terms as above. Projects in this category will only be considered for trail connector projects.
