A Universal Access Trail accessed at Government Peak Recreation Area, this gravel-surfaced trail meanders 0.4 miles through boreal forest and over mountain streams. Delight in towering fireweed, birch trees, and, as the name suggests, prickly wild rose. Two wheelchair accessible picnic tables provide trail users with the perfect opportunity to stop and take in the expansive views.

This trail was built by VMBaH (Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers) and funded by Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation.  Additional Mat-Su Trail and Park Foundation funded trail work completed in summer 2024 by SCA (Student Conservation Association) with Mat-Su Borough to make the trail ADA compliant.

Parking: Mat-Su Borough day use or annual pass required.
