Looking for an outdoor lunch spot or just a place to sit or stretch your legs amongst some greenery and mountain views? Check out the Babb Arboretum, located in downtown Palmer at the corner of E. Fireweed and S. Gulkana St. This 0.30 acre wooded City of Palmer park provides a delightful spot to watch for sandhill cranes or play a game of hide and seek.  The Arboretum features 109 shrubs including lilac, rose, honeysuckle, and 47 trees including white spruce, blue spruce, maple, mountain ash, paper birch, and larch.

The parking lot doubles as a trailhead for a paved pedestrian/bike path that runs parallel to the Palmer airport, connecting to the bike path along Cope-Industrial Way.
