Palmer, AK ~ Have an exciting trail or park project that your group wants to tackle in 2018? Good news then as the next grant cycle that the Mat Su Trails and Parks Foundation will be reviewing applications is coming up pretty soon!
Part of that process involves a site visit to review your project. I recently spent the afternoon with Laura Hoffman (pictured) reviewing a new trail project that the Upper Susitna Soil and Water Conservation District has in mind for the upcoming grant cycle. I learned not only about the trail realignment project, but also some really interesting cultural archeological survey work being done for the project. These site visits are a critical part of helping staff and the board better understand the scope of your project and what the impact for the community will be.
So now is the time to call our offices at 907-746-8757 and ask questions about your project and how it fits into our programs. You can also check out our GRANT GUIDELINES here! This year there are a few updates you will want to review before filling out your application.
The New application can be found here. We have increased the eligible in-kind match rate to $27.80 per hour to mirror that of the state’s recreational trail program grants, and our budget page has a new column to track in-kind match separately from cash match. So please make sure to download the news application! Due date for your grant application is January 5th, 2018.
